The greatest rewards of being an educator are seeing students success- whether it is small steps developing a specific skill set or success in their professional lives.
My philosophy is a pragmatic perspective where students build upon a strong foundation, and explore and develop their own artistic vision.
To stimulate imagination and discussion, I utilize a diverse range of imagery via lectures, films, gallery visits, visiting artists and walks with nature.
In addition, in-class brainstorming exercises, interactive projects, discussions and critiques. Through these various methodologies, students critically problem solve and articulate their ideas. I have had much success working with a diverse student body for over two decades.
Classical foundations and technical skills in a variety of mediums are fundamental to the art process. My courses are structured and designed to increase the individual's awareness of the materials and the creative process while developing personal goals. The students acquire knowledge and ability in order to execute their ideas- including conceptual thinking and potential personal series.
I am an enthusiastic educator devoted to my students and their success in the Visual Arts.
