Allison Gillies is an active exhibiting artist and professor at the Art Institute of Dallas and adjunct at Texas Woman’s University.  

Allison obtained a B.F.A. (summa cum laude) in Drawing and Painting from the University of North Florida, and her M.F.A. (magna cum laude) in Painting with an intermedia minor in Bookmaking, Papermaking and Printmaking from Texas Woman’s University.

Allison teaches all levels of Drawing, Life Drawing and Artistic Anatomy, Painting, Color Theory and Design courses.  In addition, teaching community workshops.

Gillies’ work reflects upon her fascination with life’s transience by juxtaposing skeletons, anatomy and the human body in a variety of painted narratives. Utilizing a broad range of media and figurative styles; from realistic depictions of skeletons and anatomy - to abstracted floating figures representative of a spiritual realm.

Allison strives to share knowledge and make connections; to be a catalyst, and make a positive difference in people’s lives.
